Suzanne Cambitzis

Suzanne Cambitzis started her career in education as an English and History teacher at Durban Girls’ High School in 1994. After relocating to Johannesburg in 1998, Suzanne taught History at Roosevelt High School; English and History at Greenside High School; and English and History at St David’s Marist Inanda.
In 2009 Suzanne was appointed Head of the English Department at St David’s where she was also involved in the IEB Advanced Programme English pilot project. She was appointed Head of the English Department at Kingsmead College in 2013, in addition to being a Grade 8-12 English teacher and a Grade 10-12 Further Studies English teacher.
Beyond the classroom, Suzanne was involved extensively in school sport and cultural extramural programmes. She has worked as an IEB matric English sub-examiner for over fifteen years and an Advanced Programme English sub-examiner, a matric oral moderator and a matric SBA portfolio moderator.
Suzanne is a graduate of UKZN with a BA majoring in English and Legal Studies, an Honours degree in English and an HDE (PG) in English Home Language, English First Additional Language and History. She has also completed courses in Psychology and Inclusive Education through UNISA.
